Daniel Stauch, a Stuttgart native, is an internationally renowned architectural and art photographer. After studying photography at the Merz Academy in Stuttgart, he honed his craft in New York, working alongside some of the most prominent photographers in the industry. Since returning to Germany in 2005, Stauch has built a reputation for his innovative approach to capturing architecture and art.
In 2018, Daniel Stauch opened his own gallery in Stuttgart-Nord, where he regularly hosts exhibitions that showcase his unique perspective and creative vision.
One of his standout achievements is his “Re-Set” series, which was featured at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale. This exhibition marked the first time these works were presented to an international audience. The series focuses on deserted squares and iconic landmarks, stripping them of the usual crowds and distractions to reveal their raw architectural beauty.
By using a technique that eliminates people and cars from his images, Stauch offers a strikingly new perspective on some of the world’s most famous landmarks. The “Re-Set” series reimagines these spaces as serene, almost otherworldly landscapes, inviting viewers to see them with fresh eyes.
Stauch’s work doesn’t just document architecture—it transforms it into art, encouraging viewers to think about space, form, and the relationship between humanity and its creations.
